Welcome to my BlogSpot. Today’s subject is my family. In April 2007 I fell while playing football with my nephew in Vind. I had a severe concussion and lost my short term memory. I was in Denmark to participate in a conference on water resource management and had just played a chess tournament in Ribe. Jacqueline and Thea were in Ghana. Needless to say that it was a frightening experience to lose your memory and for a few days I did not know what I was doing in Denmark. Luckily I was with my sister and her family and they had to explain to me over and over again what I was doing there – I kept forgetting…

Most frightening was that I did not know where my family was. I repeatedly asked where they were and even when I got some of my memory back I could not wait to get home to them. Everything else just seems insignificant in situations like that. I love my family:
